CSO 26 TANK TOUR
Join us on a technical tour of the CSO 26 Stormwater Facility. CSO stands for Combined Sewer Overflow. The City of Spokane had to come up with a Stormwater solution to prevent wastewater/runoff from running into the river during storm events. The City developed a system of large underground tanks across the City to capture the wastewater/runoff during storm events. This allows the water to then be treated after the storm moves past and the runoffs subside. The result has been improved treated water that is returned to the river.
When: Wednesday, October 7, 9am
Where: 901 W Spokane Falls Blvd is the address for the COS tank site. It is across the street from the library and next to City Hall. People can walk from the hotel and meet onsite. The entrance for the COS tank is at the address on top of the tank.
Who: All conference registrants welcome, please sign up during registration as space is limited.
BIKING/SCOOTERING TOUR
Hop on a Lime bike or scooter and experience Spokane’s 27 x 2027 Urban Mobility Network. Learn how the city is working toward its goal of building 27 miles of safe walking and bike routes to link all quadrants of Spokane by 2027. Along the way, city staff will discuss what investments are being made, the adaptive design approach being used, what’s working, and what challenges cities should anticipate with similar projects.

SURFING

Yes, you read that correctly. Join us in the Grand Ballroom for the Margaritaville Social on Wednesday, October 7 at 7:00 p.m.
We may be hours from the ocean, but who says you need an ocean to surf? Enjoy a live steel drum band, food and drink and even surfing on the mechanical surf machine (no water involved)! Prizes will be awarded to the best Margaritaville costumes, thanks to J-U-B Engineers. So pull out that Tommy Bahama shirt you thought you’d never wear again and straw sun hat.
All conference registrants and exhibit staff are welcome and encouraged to join in the fun!
