APWA Equipment ROADeo
The APWA Operations and Maintenance Committee invite and encourage you to participate, and to allow participation by your maintenance workers, in the Annual Equipment ROADeo at the APWA WA Fall 2025 Conference on October 16, 2025. The ROADeo is a chance for participants across the state to test their skills by maneuvering machinery through specific obstacle courses. Participants will demonstrate the skills it takes to perform the daily internal operations of the Public Works Departments throughout the state, and to have the opportunity to network with other public agencies on techniques and how to better serve the City, County, or State Agency they represent. The Winner of the overall event advances to compete on a national level.

Dump Truck Winner – Jason Newman, WSDOT
Skid Steer Winner – Kai Fleming, Lewis County Public Works / Road Maintenance

NEW FOR 2026
- All competitors will be required to complete a Pre-Inspection Simulation onsite prior to competing.
- Any competitor without a CDL will have a rider in the equipment with them during the competitions. APWA will supply the rider.

ROADeo registrations include the option to add on a discounted Thursday Night Awards banquet ticket for $50.
ROADeo Only – ROADeo Only registration is a Thursday Only registration with the added benefit of competing in the ROADeo.
APWA Member/Non Member Cost:
- $150 / $200 Until September 30
- $250 / $300 October 1 and beyond
ROADeo plus Full Conference: Compete in the ROADeo and attend conference sessions.
